Special Education Social Worker/SAC Extended School Year Program

DATES: 7/6/2026-8/6/2026 4 days per week Monday thru Thursday

HOURS: 7:45 am to 12:45 pm 5 hours per day

8:15 am to 1:15pm 5 hours per day

TITLE: ESY Special Education Social Worker/SAC

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters Degree in social work or counseling (MSW preferred)
Significant clinical experience with school-aged children
Certified or certifiable as a School Adjustment Counselor by the Division of Youth Services
Experience in individual group & family counseling
Prefer minimum of three years experience in a school and/or social service setting
Thorough knowledge and understanding of all laws and school policies which govern student services

REPORTS TO:Site Coordinator/Program Director

SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Including but not limited to:

Provide counseling to students in need utilizing a variety of counseling modalities such as individual group and family therapy as needed
Assist the Site Coordinator/Program Director in all matters which pertain to student services including the keeping of appropriate student records and the generation of any and all pertinent reports
Serve as the prime liaison between the school the family and the community
Responsible for primary intervention in such areas as: Child abuse teenage pregnancy substance abuse potential suicide and other psychiatric emergencies and/or critical incidents which occur in the school yard
Provide coordination and referral services to social service agencies as needed
Adhere to ESY requirements
Strong communication skills

Be organized and able to multitask

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Hourly rate in accordance with FRPS Administrators Association Contract
