S.A. Comunale is seeking a Utility worker to support the Corporate Fabrication Shop.
The primary function of this position is to assist in various areas of the Fabrication Shop where needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Measure and cut pipe to specified length based on sketches identification label and/or blueprints that are given.
- Use strong math skills to correctly handle and prepare pipe.
- Perform actions related to assembly/make-on couplings/fittings when applicable and ensure they are assembled to print/sketch.
- Review job information sheets and technical instructions and process material accordingly.
- Operate the pneumatic tensioner and crimper when applicable.
- Perform Quality Control (QC) procedures such as dye penetrant testing on welds inspection of grooves and the prep and painting of rusty or welded material(s) and alert Quality Control Supervisor of any discrepancies found but handle any issues that are in range of knowledge and training.
- Responsible for offloading of pipe on a daily basis and transporting to correct location.
- Call in pipe from the yard.
- Handle chemicals in a safe manner.
- Input information into computer system and interpret computer data to perform job accurately.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Assist in bundling pipe as necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Technical or trade school training is a plus.
- Previous warehouse experience is required.
- Previous tow motor experience is required.
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds is required.
- Basic computer skills are required.
