Course Leader Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) (0.5 FTE)

We are seeking an experienced committed and forward-thinking individual to lead and develop our SEND curriculum offer supporting learners with diverse needs to achieve progress and thrive.
This role will play a central part in shaping high quality SEND provision in response to local and national priorities including inclusive education supported employment pathways community independence and improving outcomes for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities. The Course Leader will lead and develop programmes across Entry Level to Level 2 ensuring curriculum relevance in areas such as inclusive communication life skills employability personal development independence and preparation for work and adulthood.
SEND is a strategic growth area for the service and this position presents a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impactsupporting learners to build confidence develop essential skills and progress into further learning work or supported pathways across the borough and beyond.

About You
You are a qualified teacher (DTLLS / PGCE / Cert Ed / Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training or equivalent) with substantial experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will be educated to degree level or above and confident teaching adult learners with a wide range of abilities and support needs.
You bring a strong background in inclusive education with excellent knowledge of SEND legislation person centred approaches the SEND Code of Practice and strategies for supporting learners with cognitive physical social emotional and communication needs.
You are an inspiring practitioner who is passionate about removing barriers to learning and committed to delivering high quality personalised teaching. You are also an effective leader able to motivate teams model best practice and support colleagues in developing inclusive accessible teaching approaches.
You will have experience embedding digital learning technologies championing inclusive teaching practice and promoting safeguarding equality and diversity across the curriculum.
You will also bring strong understanding of the Education Inspection Framework internal quality assurance processes compliance requirements and awarding body standards relevant to accredited SEND programmes.
