Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates Inc. is currently seeking full-timeHighwayConcrete Techniciansto travel andperform concrete repair and maintenance operations in the Texasarea during the night shift. This positionrequires performing a variety of tasks related to driving across the state of Texashighwayconcrete repair/maintenance guardrailand drainageand adherence to all applicable federal state and local regulations as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. Highway. Concrete Technicianswill bebased out of the Grand Prairie TXyard and require the ability to travel at least 75% of the time within the US mostly within TX but quarterly to CO.
Required Experience:
- Concrete forming/repair experience required - Minimum 3 years of related experience
- Roadway maintenance experience
- Exposure to using shovels weed trimming machinery brooms & various small hand tools
- MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
- Wheel Loader Skidsteer Fork Lift Asphalt Roller etc operator
Preferred Experience:
- Roadway maintenance experience
- Air compressor operations familiarity
- Guardrail and Sign installation experience
- Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smart phone and applications
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
- Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to operate hand/power tools
Schedule:
Full time; Must be able to travel 75% of the time with 1 week notice.
Must be able to work rotating day or night shift including weekends. Day shift is typically 7am - 3:30pm. Night shift is typically 6pm - 2:30am or once concrete is curedMust be able to work weather events such as snowice and floods.
