Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children Do you want to be part of a warm inclusive village school that values every childs potential and nurtures their growth Rotherfield Primary School is seeking a dedicated enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team and help us continue to develop our PE and sports provision.

About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Rotherfield you will play a pivotal role in supporting teaching and learning across the school with a strong focus on PE. You will work closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons support childrens progress and contribute to a positive and purposeful learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching PE as part of PPA cover
  • Promoting positive behaviour through our therapeutic thinking approach.
  • Organising and managing learning spaces and resources safely.
  • Building strong relationships with children colleagues and families to support each childs development.
  • Organise sporting events with local schools and accompany children to the events.

About You


We are looking for a confident motivated professional who shares our values of inclusion resilience and collaboration. You will have:

  • HLTA qualification and experience in the HLTA role
  • A passion for teaching children a range of different sports
  • A strong understanding of how children learn and the ability to adapt your approach to meet diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage sensitively and effectively with children colleagues and families.
  • The ability to contribute actively to lesson planning and assessment.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and a commitment to promoting positive behaviour.
  • A passion for professional development and a willingness to embrace new challenges.
