Role Overview:

  • Be part of a highly motivated dynamic team of engineers working on delivery and application engineering of existing and new electronic applications particularly for HVDC converters and the forthcoming HVDC Grid.

  • Role has a level of autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead management of component obsolescence and lead time management.
  • Implement and improve component lifecycle strategies.
  • Establish and manage supplier interfaces.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders for long-term support of component obsolescence.
  • Support delivered in-work and future projects.
  • Apply engineering knowledge to solve problems using technical skills and analytic thinking.
  • Propose different solutions outside set parameters using judgment and guidance.
  • Share knowledge apply different engineering methods and demonstrate an enquiring mind and desire to learn new skills.

Qualifications:

  • Electronic expertise at graduate level or equivalent experience.
  • Good technical understanding of digital and where possible analogue electronic design for an industrial control system.
  • High degree of knowledge and understanding of electronic components and principles.
  • High degree of knowledge and understanding of obsolescence management and lifecycle management principles.
  • Experience of value engineering is beneficial.
  • Ability to think innovatively and apply engineering knowledge.
  • Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks accessing multiple internal sources to arrive at decisions.
