Job Summary

Are you ready to launch your career in insurance Join the award-winning HUB International Internship Program (HIIP).

In this full-time paid 17-week internship in Canada you will be exposed to the vast career opportunities within the growing insurance brokerage industry. Working with our Commercial lines Personal lines Employee Benefits or Retirement & Private Wealth teams you will learn about our business through on-the-job training working closely with a variety of HUB team members to gain hands-on experience in client service sales and more!

About the Team:

The Opportunity:
As an Analyst Intern in our Employee Benefits Division you will enhance your understanding of the group benefits industry. You will respond to client inquiries provide analytical support solve problems and tackle new challenges daily all under the mentorship of experienced and dedicated colleagues.

What Youll Do

  • Gain hands-on experience in managing policies endorsements renewals data management and claims processing.
  • Contribute to market analysis and research projects providing valuable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Actively engage in workshops training sessions and seminars to enhance skills and industry knowledge.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project updates findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide direct day-to-day problem-solving support for clients regarding their group benefits programs.
  • Support client communication through drafting formal letters reports and participating in virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Perform data entry to support quarterly and annual financial analysis for a broad range of clients across various industry sectors.
  • Conduct renewal analysis negotiate fees and rates with carriers in alignment with department strategy.
  • Review insurance contracts and financial statements.
  • Support the lead consultant and Analysts in managing projects conducting research and drawing meaningful conclusions from client and market data.
  • Gain insight and build knowledge of the organization its services people and purpose.
  • Conduct data review assumption setting and report writing for actuarial valuations (actuarial track only).
  • Actively manage all assigned accounts and represent HUB and its values in all client interactions including meetings events and presentations.
  • Handle confidential information and data adhering to HUBs privacy and confidentiality agreement.


What Youll Need for Success

  • University or College students in currently in their 3rd or 4th year of their program
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn the insurance industry
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills adept at prioritizing and handling multiple tasks
  • A collaborative team player with a desire to help others
  • Independent and self-motivated capable of autonomous work
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Office: Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook

Compensation
The expected hourly rate for this position is $24/hr and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidates skills experience and working location as well as the specific positions business line scope and level.
