What Youll Be Doing

You will be joining the Enterprise Technology team within CIBC. As the Azure Cloud Engineer you are responsible for the technical design development and integration of cloud-based applications and infrastructure solutions. This role emphasizes AI tooling enablement and DevOps practices supporting the implementation and management of AI tools and capabilities across the organization while not being directly involved in AI model development. The engineer transforms business requirements into robust scalable and secure technical solutions with a focus on automation and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include designing coding and testing end-to-end solutions using Azure technologies particularly Azure Databricks Data Factory and Function Apps. The role involves implementing and supporting AI tools and infrastructure for business teams to ensure platform reliability and scalability as well as enabling and maintaining CI/CD pipelines by applying DevOps best practices to streamline development and deployment. The engineer is also responsible for building and orchestrating scalable data pipelines performing ETL and data transformation using PySpark within Azure Databricks. Participation in the integration of multi-platform cloud and infrastructure solutions is required to ensure seamless operation. Additionally the position requires close collaboration with business and technology partners to analyze impacts resolve issues and provide expert technical guidance. Building strong relationships with team members clients and partners is essential as the engineer will lead technical discussions and ensure effective issue resolution. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in Python and Scala hands-on experience with Azure especially Azure Databricks expertise in ETL and data transformation using PySpark familiarity with CI/CD processes and DevOps tools and excellent problem-solving communication and stakeholder management skills.

How Youll Succeed

• Strategic Development & Execution:Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand the business requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with our technology and document the technical functionality infrastructure interfaces and integrations. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency.
• Strategy and Roadmap:Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the banks vision strategy and business objectives. Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvements
• Stakeholder Management:Act as thesolutionlead and interface with the project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through and ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements as well as architectural directions. Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing collaboration and effective problem solving

Who You Are

• You can demonstrate 5-8 years experience in building environment for platform management using: Azure API Management Azure Liberates services (AKS) Role Based Access Control (RBAC). As well as designing developing implementing and supporting applications with expertise in most of the followings: Databases (Oracle SQL Server) Cloud (Azure) ETL and Tools (Tools: source control/issue management: Git TFS JIRA Azure DevOps).
