Job description:We are currently seeking a responsible and hardworking Student Groundskeeper to join our team. As a Student Groundskeeper you will play a vital role in working with our caretaker and maintenance staff to ensure the cleanliness safety and aesthetic appeal of our long term care (LTC) facility (indoor/outdoor). This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience in grounds maintenance while contributing to the beauty safety and functionality for our senior residents.
Requirements:
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of our LTC grounds including mowing edging weeding pruning and watering.
- Operate lawn care equipment and tools safely and effectively following all established procedures and guidelines.
- Remove litter and debris from outdoor areas walkways and parking lots.
- Assist with landscaping projects such as planting flowers shrubs and trees and spreading mulch or gravel.
- Perform routine inspections of smoke detectors and indoor/outdoor facilities and report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient completion of work.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing job duties.
- Some evenings and weekends required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference given to students enrolled in high school college or university.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality results.
- Excellent computer skills particularly with Microsoft (Excel Word etc)
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Valid Drivers license
