The Project Performance Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the effective monitoring and controlling of a projects performance. This position is responsible for providing accurate timely data analysis and reporting to stakeholders. The role serves as the bridge between project management finance and senior leadership ensuring deviations from project success are caught early.
The Project Performance Controller ensures transparency in project performance recommends improvement measures and actively supports decision-making by providing performance insights. Main activities include: monitoring project performance on-demand project assessments (based on specific requests from management) regular sample testing and project-related consultancy (involvement in addressing critical issues setting-up complex contexts reviewing contractual & operational aspects etc.).
Responsibilities
a. Performance Monitoring
- Monitor and control key performance indicators (KPIs) for projects and overall project health metrics.
- Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of project execution.
- Design and review project performance dashboards providing visibility into project progress milestones and bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with the project management team to monitor adherence to the project schedule and critical milestones.
- Identify potential schedule delays or risks and work with project teams to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a close relationship with the project management team to ensure accurate data on progress and forecast.
b. Financial Management and Cost Control
- Track and analyze cost performance against the approved budget identifying variances and making recommendations for corrective actions.
- Analyze cost forecasting and ensure that financial data is up to date accurate and aligned with expected outcomes.
c. Risk and Issue Management
- Assess and monitor performance risks (cost overruns delays scope creep) and ensure effective mitigation plans are in place.
- Work closely with the project manager to assess the impact of changes on project cost scope and time.
d. Reporting and Communication
- Produce regular project performance reports for stakeholders including detailed resource schedule and financial analysis.
- Prepare and present project health reports to senior leadership to support decision-making.
- Ensure transparency in project status performance and expected outcomes through continuous communication with relevant teams.
e. Continuous Improvement
- Support the implementation of project controls and performance tools to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in lessons learned sessions post-project to improve future performance control processes.
- Proactively identify and suggest process improvements in project controlling and monitoring activities to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications :
- 5-7 years of experience in Project Management with demonstrated experience across several projects and customers working with distributed teams.
- International certifications: PMP / Prince Scrum SAFe.
- Demonstrated experience with different contract types project budget tracking forecasting cost optimization techniques.
- Overall understanding of a companys internal structure business processes workflows and decision-making process.
- Technical understanding of IT projects is a plus.
- Experience in presales activities is a plus.
