Junior Sous Chef 34000 per Annum The Rose and Crown Trent
About the Role
We are looking for a driven and talented Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at The Rose and Crown in Trent. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a strong Chef de Partie (CDP) who is ready to step up into a Junior Sous Chef position and develop their skills over time. Working directly under the Head Chef youll be a key part of a dynamic kitchen team supporting daily operations and delivering exceptional dishes while also learning the ropes of a more senior role. This will be a 4 day working week from Wednesday - Saturday. Roughly 45 hours.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring smooth and efficient service.
Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with the restaurants standards maintaining consistency and creativity.
Manage kitchen staff during service helping them stay organized and ensuring the quality of dishes.
Take responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef stepping into a leadership role.
Contribute to menu planning and ensure the use of seasonal locally sourced ingredients.
Maintain a strong focus on food hygiene safety standards and compliance with all health regulations.
Help with stock control inventory management and ordering supplies to keep the kitchen running efficiently.
Requirements
Strong experience as a Chef de Partie in a busy kitchen with a desire to step up into a Junior Sous Chef role.
Excellent understanding of food hygiene health and safety regulations and kitchen procedures.
Passion for cooking with fresh seasonal ingredients and a drive to learn new techniques.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to thrive under pressure.
Leadership potential and the ability to mentor and guide junior kitchen staff.
A can-do attitude and eagerness to develop into a full Sous Chef over time.
