The NOC (Network Operations Center) Engineer is responsible for the 24x7 monitoring and management of the data centres network infrastructure. You will oversee complex network components perform troubleshooting and ensure high availability by responding to alerts and incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network systems devices (routers switches firewalls) and infrastructure performance using various tools.
- Incident & Troubleshooting: Identify diagnose and resolve network issues (connectivity problems congestion hardware failures). Manage incidents from detection to resolution escalating as necessary.
- Maintenance & Changes: Perform routine network maintenance including software upgrades and configuration changes. Participate in the change management process to ensure minimal disruption.
- Documentation & Optimization: Maintain accurate network diagrams configurations and procedures. Monitor performance metrics and recommend optimization strategies.
- Security Monitoring: Collaborate with the security team to monitor security systems and respond to potential threats.
- Site Support: Partner with the Critical Environment team to plan and execute power maintenance events. Perform additional duties like remote hands support as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Degree or Diploma in a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of NOC operation experience in a Data Centre or Telecommunication industry. L2 experience is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP DNS DHCP VPN. Experience with monitoring tools (SNMP NetFlow) and network hardware. CCNA certification is a strong plus.
