We are seeking an experienced Critical Facilities Manager to lead the on-site data centre operations team. You will hold overall responsibility for all facility management activities including operations & maintenance team leadership vendor management HSE and financial performance. Your primary mission is to ensure 100% uptime through industry-best preventative maintenance programs and strict adherence to statutory and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management: Formulate and lead the day-to-day operational management of the engineering team providing direction to multi-skilled staff and appointed vendors. Mentor and develop team members.
- Operations & Maintenance: Oversee the management and control of all M&E plant (CRAU chillers PDU UPS Switchgears DX cooling). Implement and manage preventative and reactive maintenance programs.
- Incident & Risk Management: Act as the primary point of escalation for critical failures coordinating with the engineering team to safely rectify issues and implement improvements. Manage incident response and escalation procedures.
- Vendor & Financial Management: Manage subcontractor performance against SLAs/KPIs ensuring work quality and compliance. Oversee site financial operations ensuring adherence to the agreed budget.
- HSE & Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment champion HSE standards and conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHA). Support the client with statutory compliance and certifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to improve operational standards and increase energy efficiency (PUE). Manage ad-hoc projects and renovations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Degree in Mechanical Electrical or a related Engineering discipline. Must be a Certified Data Centre Professional.
- Experience: 68 years of relevant experience in an engineering or critical environment with 23 years specifically in operating Tier III (or equivalent) data centre M&E services.
- Skills: Excellent people management client relationship and communication skills. Proficient in computer systems (AutoCAD skill is an advantage). Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
