We are looking for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring the business assets are soundly engineered modified and maintained.

As Mechanical Engineer you will investigate and analyse opportunities to enhance design asset rationalisation and standardisation and reduce production costs while improving safety quality and operational performance. This position has a strong focus on project management major plant maintenance engineering design operational efficiency energy performance and driving technical innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

Engineering & Asset Management: Lead capital upgrades plant improvements and asset optimisation initiatives delivering cost-effective maintenance solutions while supporting budgeting and standardisation efforts.
Projects & Major Maintenance: Provide engineering support and manage projects including preventative programs and accurate documentation through CMMS systems.
Leadership & Collaboration: Coordinate contractors and collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes while supporting operational capability and training.
Safety Compliance & Risk: Ensure all work complies with legislation and standards actively promote a Zero Harm culture and manage risks through audits and safe project delivery.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and improving plant efficiency energy use and production performance.

Were seeking a strong communicator and collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and embraces a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities.

To success in this role you will bring:

Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering with practical experience in plant maintenance and/or manufacturing environments
Senior level design & project execution skills with 10yrs experience
Proven ability to manage multiple projects from design through to execution ideally supported by project management experience or qualifications
Strong understanding of piping design plant processes and the interpretation of P&IDs
Working knowledge of mechanical design codes and standards (e.g. API 650 API 653)
Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
Sound understanding of electrical and control systems
