Job Summary

Subject to Joint Boarding process and sS Policies a vacancy will arise for a OF4 to serve as SO1 Munitions Outload within the Support Capability branch on FTRS LC Terms and Conditions of Service (TaCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 1 Jul 26 or sooner if achievable.

Whilst the permanent duty station will be MoD Abbey Wood this position is primarily structured for remote working. The post holder will be expected to take part in regular meetings at MoD Abbey Wood Northwood HQor MoD Main Building to engage with other members of the Support Capability team.

Unit Function:

Support Capabilitys role is to development capability investment options for the Strategic Base Support IS and Support C2 against Defence Support requirements.

Position Role:

Responsible for capability development of Defence Support Munitions Capability across Defence through the Munitions CPWG and Storage and Infrastructure CPG ensuring all stakeholders across the Defence Support Environment (including Industry Partners) are engaged.

Employer Comments:

As the principal OF4 for capability development in Support Munitions for Defence this role requires someone who thinks independently can brief confidently up to 3* and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. Engagement with NATO and International Partners may be required as well as supporting other Support personnel conducting similar activity and engagement.

A good understanding of Defence Munitions structures and relationships would be of benefit due to the intricate nature of the Munitions Supply Chain.

The role also includes financial planning and engagement with both FMC and UKStratCom Portfolio office previous experience in this area is desirable.

There is an opportunity to undertake Cap and Acq trg whilst in post (CAPAC fundamentals and practitioner MSP APMP etc).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Strategic Base Capability required to enable the Munitions Strategy.
  • Munitions Storage Capability Manager.
  • Lead the Support Munitions CPWGs for Storage Management and Outload including far bank considerations.
  • Manage the ABC and BoI process for any Munitions Related activity. Including Option development Initial Look Requests and Formal Change Requests.
  • Provide oversight and assurance to the pan-DLOD delivery of Support Munitions programmes and projects including Programme OUTLOAD and subordinate Projects.
  • Engage with appropriate external stakeholders including Defence Munitions other TLBs and NATO.
  • Support DH COS and SO1 S&I as required.
  • Support and attend where necessary multinational and NATO Munitions related activity.
