DescriptionLead the design delivery and evaluation of training programs across pre-analytic operations. This role partners with operations and quality to build standardized curricula ensure regulatory compliance and strengthen staff competency and performance across Dock Accessioning Liquid Handling Specimen Distribution Mayo Lab Inquiry Inventory and Global Logistics.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Education Coordinators/Specialists/Training Assistants; drive a consistent training culture across work units.
- Ensure training meets CLIA CAP Joint Commission and internal quality standards; support Quality SOP development and audit/inspection readiness.
- Lead onboarding competency assessments annual re-competencies and remediation plans.
- Use pre-analytic error and performance trend data to identify gaps and implement targeted education interventions.
- Support change management for new tests equipment workflows and regulatory updates; ensure training is delivered with adequate lead time before go-live.
- Partner with leaders to optimize scheduling and training coverage; reduce disruptions that pull trainers from planned duties.
- Improve communication and planning for training needs; build inclusive learning approaches that reduce barriers for ESL learners.
**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Also Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program**
We require a two year commitment for this role.
QualificationsA Masters Degree in education or related field with seven years of experience is required. Incumbent must have a demonstrated understanding of the technology industry and understanding of new technology opportunities. Candidate has expertise and demonstrated experience in all phases of the curriculum development lifecycle data-driven learning design learning theory education technology pedagogy and consulting with subject matter experts.
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
Must demonstrate the skill to communicate technology and data-derived product solutions to advance medical care. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of different people with diverse backgrounds. Must possess qualities which indicate the ability to mentor train and supervise employees. Must demonstrate the ability to think at a strategic level on optimizing or improving the Specimen Services Educational Program. Must have ability and confidence to effectively function both dependently and independently be a team player and a self-starter. Ability to effectively present to internal and external groups at a high-level representing Specimen Services. Must be an initiative taker eager to break new ground and create opportunities for others.
Doctoral or post graduate degree in education or related field preferred.
