Responsibilities
The Financial Analyst II conducts moderate to complex financial analysis and modeling projects using a variety of decision support systems. Proficient at data mining and abstracting information from all decision support tools in order to complete financial projects. Performs such analyses with limited supervision.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Capital Budget
- Conducts moderate financial analysis projects using decision support applications data warehouses or other data and analytical tools under limited supervision.
- Assists in maintaining the capital tables and reports in Axiom. This includes entering and maintaining pertinent data for all capital requests as well as routine upkeep of all capital reports.
- Conducts monthly variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance to department leaders.
- Pulls data from a number of systems in order to prepare reports in Axiom on capital spending variances and forecasts. Reviews data for accuracy and reasonableness before distributing reports to members on the Capital Budget Team.
- Communicates with various departments to gather and interpret financial data related to ongoing and upcoming capital projects.
- Works closely with Accounting and other departments to ensure financial accuracy.
- Understands FP&A key decision support system and tools available to complete financial projects.
- Abstracts data from key decision support systems in order to complete financial projects. Reviews data for accuracy and reasonableness before presenting to management.
- Summarizes analyses in professional documentation and communicates findings to decision support management.
- Performs basic report writing and modification within the financial planning system.
- Leads system training and education classes for capital partners on the use of financial planning tools.
- Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Accounting Business Public Health or Healthcare Administration or similar field
- One (1) year of experience in decision support role OR relevant advanced degree.
- Skills in using Microsoft Office products; intermediate level ability with Excel applications.
PREFERRED
- Experience in healthcare finance role.
- Masters in Business Administration Healthcare Administration or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with databases using SQL or other advance system languages. Adept at creating and managing complex queries.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect organize and analyze significant amount of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated professional communication skills in written reports and oral formats.
