Position: Manufacturing Planner & Scheduler III
Location: West Hills CA Roscoe Blvd
Duration: 6 Months

Summary
- The Manufacturing Planner & Scheduler III is responsible for planning scheduling and optimizing production activities to ensure efficient manufacturing operations.
- This role involves complex data analysis to create cost-effective production schedules support new product introductions and drive continuous improvement in key performance metrics such as OTIF backorders and schedule attainment.
- The position requires strong cross-functional collaboration and expertise in ERP systems and supply chain planning.
Responsibilities
- Plan schedule and coordinate production workflows across multiple product lines.
- Analyze data to develop optimal and cost-effective production schedules.
- Ensure key performance indicators such as on-time delivery safety stock levels and material shortages are met.
- Determine manpower equipment and raw material requirements to meet production demand.
- Monitor production progress and address issues to minimize disruptions.
- Maintain and update MRP master data including lead times lot sizes and safety stock levels.
- Implement changes to material master data BOMs and routing as required.
- Analyze demand trends and adjust production requirements accordingly.
- Follow up on open orders partial shipments and expedite as needed.
- Prepare and present production status and performance reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Demand Planning Customer Service R&D QA/QC Marketing Manufacturing and Logistics.
- Identify inventory risks and communicate them during SIOP meetings.
- Support new product launches transfers and specification changes.
- Analyze root causes of stock-outs and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO FDA and GMP regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Support PFEP (Plan for Every Part) and material planning processes.
- Maintain documentation related to planning backlog production status and inventory.
- Communicate proactively with operations and purchasing teams to manage shortages and production priorities.
Required Skills
- Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Data Science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning and scheduling within Life Sciences (Pharma Biotech Diagnostics preferred).
- Strong experience with SIOP (Sales Inventory & Operations Planning) processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP required).
- Strong knowledge of inventory management backorder mitigation and demand planning.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of quality control principles and regulatory requirements (ISO FDA GMP).
Preferred Skills
- APICS Certification in Planning & Inventory Management.
- Six Sigma Certification.
- Experience in medical device or diagnostics manufacturing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with PFEP and advanced supply chain optimization techniques.
