Job Summary
Role: Senior Electrical Engineer Power Electronics
Location: Torrance CA (Onsite)
Visa: USC
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical system design for high power electronic products from concept through production
- Design and develop:
- Inverters and converters (AC/DC DC/AC)
- Gate driver circuits
- High power electronic systems and assemblies
- Auto-transformers and related magnetic components
- Perform schematic capture simulation and analysis using industry-standard tools
- Drive PBA (Printed Board Assembly) layout design in collaboration with layout engineers
- Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC requirements and support testing and certification
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting at board subsystem and system levels
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including design reviews validation and manufacturing transition
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical firmware manufacturing and quality teams
- Prepare and review technical documentation test plans and design reports
- Support military and defense programs requiring strict compliance and documentation standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 10 years of hands-on electrical engineering experience with a focus on power electronics
- Proven expertise in:
- High power electronic design
- Inverter and converter design
- Gate driver design
- AC/DC and DC/AC power conversion
- High power systems architecture
- EMI/EMC mitigation techniques
- Strong experience with:
- Schematic capture and electrical design
- PBA layout design and review
- Electrical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as:
- PCAD
- LTspice
- PSIM
- MATLAB
- Demonstrated experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) programs
- US Citizenship required due to involvement in military/defense programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on military aerospace or defense programs
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards for high power systems
- Strong mentoring or technical leadership experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
