About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role will play a critical part in managing cost accounting general ledger integrity and month-end close processes while supporting financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate is hands-on analytical and comfortable working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
This position reports directly to the Controller and works closely with operations supply chain and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost accounting activities including inventory valuation standard costing and variance analysis
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and review month-end close entries account reconciliations and supporting schedule
- Analyze COGS labor burden and overhead allocations
- Support development and improvement of costing models and processes
- Manage credit and AR-related functions including customer credit reviews and collections oversight
- Assist with financial reporting including monthly financial statements and internal management reporting
- Partner cross-functionally with operations to improve data accuracy and cost visibility
- Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- 25 years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing experience strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory accounting
- Experience with ERP systems (Infor VISUAL or similar a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables lookups data analysis)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
