Job Summary

Pre-op Coordinator for Casa Colina Surgery Center

Reports to : Director of nursing

Responsibilities:

1. Contact the patient once the surgery has been scheduled to conduct pre-op call

a. Outlines overall experience and expectations with the patient (pre-op/PACU/Anesthesia)

b. Facilitates completion of patients medical history. If the center uses an online pre-op registration system this information should be reviewed with the patient verbally as well. Ensures a comprehensive and thourough medical history is taken to validate eligibility and compliance with the patient selection criteria. (If patient needs to be seen prior to surgery by anesthesia canidate to coordinate with the anesthesia provider to schedule pre-op appointment).

c. Ensures all pertinenet information has been captures (i.e. H&P EKG lab work Medical/Ccardiac clearance-if applicable)

d. Coordinates and facilitates pre-operative testing (whenapplicable). Communicates testing results.

e. Communicates medical concerns to nursing staff/anesthesia if applicable (i.e. allergies history of pain control issues or nausea/comiting ect.)
