Were seeking a skilled Analytical Chemist to perform inorganics testing in our environmental laboratory in Reading PA.
In this role youll perform analytical testing on water wastewater and soil samples using ion chromatography nutrient analysis systems and wet chemistry techniques. This is a hands-on laboratory position in a fast-paced high-throughput environment where accuracy compliance and turnaround time are critical.
What Youll Do
- Perform inorganic testing for anions nutrients ammonia alkalinity hardness and total nitrogen (TN) using standard methods
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation including Ion Chromatography (IC) and Segmented Flow Analysis (SFA) systems
- Conduct wet chemistry techniques such as titrations digestions and sample preparation
- Generate accurate defensible data in compliance with QA/QC standards and client requirements
- Document and manage analytical data in LIMS ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance
- Support method development validation optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and analytical methods and support investigations including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Perform instrument calibrations quality control checks and preventative maintenance
- Support internal and external audits including preparation and response to findings
- Develop review and update SOPs and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist with training and supporting laboratory staff on methods instrumentation and procedures
- Communicate analytical results and provide technical interpretation as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support laboratory and client needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What Were Looking For
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Ion Chromatography (IC) Segmented Flow Analysis (SFA) or similar instrumentation
- Proven experience with wet chemistry techniques including titrations and digestions
- Working knowledge of EPA Methods 300.0/300.1 and FIA with demonstrated experience in method optimization and continuous improvement
- Strong ability to evaluate quality control (QC) data and drive appropriate corrective actions
- Proficiency with LIMS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word Outlook Excel)
