The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care to patients by assisting with diagnostic tests procedures and treatments ordered by the physician in a family practice environment.
This is a part-time (0.5) position working 2-3 days per week out of our Chaska and Watertown location.
Catalyst Medical Clinic is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Escorts the patient to the Clinical Support area. Take height and weight. Verify visit reason.
- Checks immunization record and update as needed.
- Inquires about medications allergies and smoking status at each visit.
- Take BP temperature pulse respiration head and chest measurement pertinent to exam.
- Prepares room as needed for specified visit type.
- Assists with laceration and set up surgical tray.
- Assists with excision of moles or lesions. Give specimen to lab for send out.
- Administers injection SQ IM and ID.
- Retrieves calls regarding patient health problems documents and routes calls.
- Calls in new prescriptions and refills to the pharmacy after provider has reviewed and approved.
- Calls patient with normal lab results or normal results that have been reviewed by the physician with specific instructions by provider.
- Checks providers out box and review all papers in the box to ensure they are initialed by the provider prior to going to medical records for scanning.
- Fully participate and contribute to the patient centered health care home.
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- Medical Assistant LPN Athletic Trainer or CNA preferred
- 1 year of clinical experience preferred
