Job Summary

The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care to patients by assisting with diagnostic tests procedures and treatments ordered by the physician in a family practice environment.

This is a part-time (0.5) position working 2-3 days per week out of our Chaska and Watertown location.

Catalyst Medical Clinic is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions:

Escorts the patient to the Clinical Support area. Take height and weight. Verify visit reason.
Checks immunization record and update as needed.
Inquires about medications allergies and smoking status at each visit.
Take BP temperature pulse respiration head and chest measurement pertinent to exam.
Prepares room as needed for specified visit type.
Assists with laceration and set up surgical tray.
Assists with excision of moles or lesions. Give specimen to lab for send out.
Administers injection SQ IM and ID.
Retrieves calls regarding patient health problems documents and routes calls.
Calls in new prescriptions and refills to the pharmacy after provider has reviewed and approved.
Calls patient with normal lab results or normal results that have been reviewed by the physician with specific instructions by provider.
Checks providers out box and review all papers in the box to ensure they are initialed by the provider prior to going to medical records for scanning.
Fully participate and contribute to the patient centered health care home.
Any and all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School diploma/GED or equivalent
Medical Assistant LPN Athletic Trainer or CNA preferred
1 year of clinical experience preferred

Working Conditions:

Frequentlyâlift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Requires the ability to stand walk bend and move continuously throughout the shift.
Must be able to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing pulling and reaching.
Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g. computer phone printer).
