Role: House Manager - Intensive Therapeutic Care (Significant Disabilities)

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

Location: Regents Park

In this role youll work alongside a Case Manager and Therapeutic Specialist to create a safe supportive and structured environment for children and young people in residential care.

Youll be responsible for overseeing daily operations supporting and mentoring staff and helping children and young people to develop essential life skills stay engaged in education and maintain meaningful connections with family community and support networks.

Our ideal candidate must be able to nurture a love of sports and the outdoors. The young person in our care loves to keep busy and is very active! They should also enjoy engaging in some light-hearted banter and not take things too seriously all the time. They should also have experience managing complex behaviours including ability to deescalate conflict. The ability to build rapport and establish trust will be key to success in this role.

  • Lead and manage the home in line with the CARE model relevant legislation service standards and LWB policies and procedures
  • Provide direct care and support to children and young people in a residential setting
  • Be a visible and supportive leader in the home offering guidance and role modelling for your team
  • Oversee and implement therapeutic care plans to support the wellbeing of children and young people
  • Guide your team in applying Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques
  • Provide reflective supervision and mentoring to staff fostering a strong supportive team culture

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in Community Services Youth Work or a related field (desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
  • Leadership experience in services supporting children and young people such as out-of-home care (OOHC) and Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) settings
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities complex health needs or behaviours of concern
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise a team embedding therapeutic care practices
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011)
  • A Current & Unrestricted drivers licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register checks
