Job Overview:
As a Cafeteria Assistant youll help prepare and serve meals to students and staff in a fast-paced school cafeteria setting. A major part of this role involves ensuring the kitchen and serving areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each meal.
Youll work on a supportive team that keeps things running smoothly and safely each school day.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday only
Morning to early afternoon shifts (between 6:30 AM and 2:00 PM depending on assignment)
No weekends evenings or holidays
Responsibilities:
Assist with meal prep and portioning
Serve food to students and staff
ensure thorough cleanup of kitchen dishroom and serving areas after meals
Operate dishroom equipment and assist with washing trays utensils and surfaces
Maintain strict cleanliness and sanitation standards
Follow all food safety procedures and district guidelines
Work as part of a team and take direction from kitchen leads
Requirements:
Prior kitchen or food service experience is expected
Must be dependable punctual and detail-oriented
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
Must pass a background check and meet school health requirements
