Job Summary

Were glad youre considering applying to become an Emerald Youth JustLead Tutor.

Since 1991 Emerald Youth Foundation has worked to support Knoxvilles youth and prepare generations of Godly community leaders. Emerald Youth has engaged more than 30000 children and young adults in a variety of community programs over nearly three decades. Every year Emerald Youth serves more than 3000 children teens and young adults in the heart of Knoxville through faith learning and health programs.

    Why do we need tutors

Each year students in our afterschool programs take the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) Assessment to determine their academic performance levels and identify skill deficiencies they may have. Emerald Youth strives to meet students learning needs and help address learning gaps. Past data has shown that many of our students who were paired with tutors achieved greater academic growth which is why we need you! While with their tutor students are able to work on specific reading and math skills with resources and content catered to their individual levels. This individualized instruction has great potential to help students make significant progress towards their learning goals and close the learning gap helping them have the skills to be more successful and addition tutoring allows students to build their confidence in who they are as learners and what they are capable of. This is an opportunity for you to have a direct impact in the lives of students.

If hired where would I work

Tutors would be placed at one of EYs JustLead program sites. Structured and meaningful activities (i.e. academics health service-learning discipleship etc.) take place with young people at a church and FBO to achieve this holistic vision.

What age group would I work with
