WHAT YOULL DO
The Speech-Language Pathologists responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Student Support
- Conduct classroom observations and informal screenings to better understand students communication skills.
- Share findings and practical recommendations with teachers and caregivers.
- Identify classroom and home strategies that support communication development and monitor student progress.
- Participate in regular student-focused meetings to discuss student needs and plan supports.
Collaboration
- Work in partnership with other members of the Student Success Team classroom teachers and divisional leadership to ensure that each students academic skills are progressing.
- When needed offer referrals for targeted services as well as liaise with outside providers.
- Collaborate with teachers and members of SST to provide TIER 1 interventions within the classroom.
Qualifications :
WHAT YOU BRING
- Wide range of knowledge with more than 5 years of experience with preschool and school-aged children.
- Understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) to address speech and language needs including articulation voice fluency and receptive/expressive language in the classroom.
- Commitment to supporting students wellbeing and inclusive learning environments.
- Highly effective collaborator eager to listen deeply contribute to a team and achieve goals together.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teachers families and interdisciplinary teams.
- Very resourceful and adaptive eager to embrace constant change growth and learning.
- Current NYS licensure and ASHA certification.
Additional Information :
If hired for this position the annual salary range is between $70000 - $120000. The salary may vary depending on your professional experience and skills. The final salary offered will be prorated to reflect a part-time schedule.
