About the Role

This role is part of our Operations team and works closely with the Office Manager to support our digital infrastructure and internal tools. Your work will help ensure that all team members can rely on the devices and platforms they use in their day-to-day work. You will collaborate with different teams to identify needs and improve our digital environment with support from our engineers for more complex technical questions and guidance from our in-house legal counsel where topics such as compliance or data protection are this role you will work approx. 20 hours per week and contribute to creating a reliable and supportive digital workspace that helps the organization focus on its broader mission.

Your Tasks

Tool and Platform Management

  • Responsible for the administration of our digital tool landscape (e.g. Google Workspace Slack Asana Atlassian Zoom Bitwarden Sipgate).

  • Manage licenses and user accounts maintain documentation and optimize tool usage across the organisation.

  • In collaboration with our tech team evaluate select and implement new digital tools (preferably open-source solutions).


Device and Hardware Management

  • Manage our heterogeneous device inventory (mainly macOS and some Windows devices).

  • Set up maintain troubleshoot and manage the lifecycle of company devices.

  • Deploy and further develop MDM solutions (e.g. for Macs and mobile devices).


Internal IT Support and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify digital needs and develop suitable solutions.

  • Support employees in using digital tools and devices through enablement training sessions and guidelines.

Your Profile

Essential experience and skills:

  • Currently enrolled in a German university pursuing a degree in IT computer science digital technologies or a related field ideally with some initial practical experience.

  • Experience working with digital tools SaaS environments and specialized IT systems.

  • Solid knowledge of macOS and Windows administration; experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions is a plus.

  • Interest in open-source technologies and digital ecosystems.

  • Basic understanding of data protection IT security and modern cloud architectures.

  • A structured and solution-oriented way of working with an interest in supporting colleagues in their day-to-day work and improving internal workflows.

  • Strong English & communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics in a clear and accessible way.

  • German language skills would be an advantage.


Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with collaboration tools and platforms used in nonprofit organizations.

  • Experience with basic scripting automation or IT troubleshooting.

  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and experimenting with digital tools.

  • Previous experience in a small team in a startup/NGO environment and / or in a volunteering / activist context.
