A well-established organisation within the retail and commercial supply sector is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Category Specialist to grow its footprint within the education market.
This role is centred around building strong partnerships with schools particularly during the high-impact Back-to-School season while also driving consistent year-round sales. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding market share managing existing accounts and unlocking new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Growth
- Manage and grow a portfolio of school clients
- Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders such as principals and procurement staff
- Identify and convert new business opportunities within the education sector
Sales Delivery
- Achieve and exceed sales and gross profit targets
- Promote a broad product offering tailored to school needs
- Execute seasonal and annual sales strategies
Customer Engagement
- Position the business as a trusted supplier through consistent service delivery
- Understand client needs and provide customised solutions
Market Intelligence
- Stay informed on education sector trends budgeting cycles and competitor activity
- Adapt sales strategies based on market insights
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate sales records pipelines and customer data
- Provide regular updates on performance and market conditions
Collaboration
- Work closely with internal sales account management and support teams
- Contribute to a seamless customer experience across all touchpoints

- Valid drivers licence and own reliable vehicle is essential
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years sales experience preferably within the education sector or a related environment
- Relevant qualification in Sales Marketing or a related field is advantageous
