The Assistant Vice Provost for University Registrar provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Office of the University Registrar serving as Emorys academic records officer and a key member of the Enrollment leadership team. This role is responsible for the integrity of student academic records university wide registration and graduation processes curriculum and catalog administration transcript and verification processes and student information systems that support Emorys academic mission across all schools and colleges.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the Office of the University Registrar setting strategic direction priorities and service standards for academic records registration grading degree audit classroom scheduling catalog management EAB Navigate and related functions.
- Serves as Emorys chief custodian of student academic records ensuring compliance with FERPA and other applicable federal state and institutional regulations and policies.
- Oversees all university wide registration grading transcript enrollment/degree verification and graduation/degree clearance processes ensuring accuracy timeliness and high-quality service to students and academic units.
- Provides executive oversight and functional leadership for the student information system (e.g. PeopleSoft and related tools) partnering with IT and Enrollment to support data integrity reporting and continuous improvement.
- Develops and manages the Registrars Office budget and organizational structure; supervises deputy associate and assistant registrars technology leaders and administrative staff.
- Provides data analysis and expert counsel to the Provost and vice/associate provosts on enrollment trends policy impacts and operational implications to support institutional planning and student success goals.
- Represents Emory in institutional system wide and external meetings and professional organizations on matters related to academic records registration and compliance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree in higher education administration business administration information systems or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seven years of progressively responsible experience in registrar academic administration roles including significant leadership and staff supervision.
- Demonstrated expertise in student information systems data management and reporting in support of academic operations and compliance.
- Experience with PeopleSoft degree audit systems and curriculum management tools in a multi-campus or multi-school environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of FERPA and other regulations governing student records as well as accreditation expectations related to academic records and curriculum documentation.
- Proven ability to lead change build effective cross campus partnerships and deliver high quality services in a fast paced service-oriented environment.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
