Job Summary

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Performance Engineer to guarantee our applications meet high standards for speed scalability and stability integrating performance best practices from conception to addition to technical responsibilities you will provide mentorship to junior engineers sharing best practices and guiding them in performance testing and analysis.

What will your job entail

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute performance load stress and endurance tests for applications and systems.

Analyze test results identify bottlenecks and perform root cause analysis for performance issues.

Implement and maintain monitoring tools to track performance metrics.

Collaborate with developers QA and DevOps teams to ensure performance requirements are integrated early in the development lifecycle.

Document test plans results and provide actionable recommendations.

Integrate test scripts within CI/CD pipelines for efficient execution. Monitor application performance using APM tools (e.g. Datadog New Relic) Grafana Prometheus or Splunk) providing actionable insights.

Generate performance reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.

Mentor teams on performance best practices and foster a performance-aware culture.

Design and document performance testing processes and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree required masters degree preferred; Software Engineering Computer Science degree is preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in performance engineering or related roles

Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter LoadRunner Gatling).

Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g. Dynatrace AppDynamics New Relic).

Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (e.g. Java Python Shell).

Deep understanding of system architecture networking and database performance tuning.

Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP) with experience reading logs and viewing usage metrics within (e.g. Azure Monitor Application Insights Amazon CloudWatch AWS X-Ray).

Exposure making updates and improvements to CICD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with microservices and containerization (Docker Kubernetes).

Knowledge of APM tools and distributed tracing.

Relevant certifications in performance testing or cloud technologies.
