Job Summary

About The Role

Were looking for a strong Commercial Account Associate to support our professional liabilities accounts in Toronto. This role involves working closely with the Senior Vice President of the Professional Liabilities team and requires someone who is responsive has strong time management skills and has good knowledge of professional liability insurance. This is an ideal role for someone with strong technical and systems experience.

What Youll Do

  • Day-to-day activities for clients and prospects

  • File management and preparation of client renewal packages (certificates summaries etc.)

  • Timely issuance of submissions binders summaries policies etc.

  • Effective communication with clients and third parties; i.e. answering client inquiries and communicating with insurance companies

  • Effective management of the abeyance system

  • Negotiation and use of EPIC

  • Minimizing Daily Sales Outstanding (DSO) to HUB standards

  • Preparing for and participating in client meetings in support of Account Manager

What Youll Need for Success

  • Valid RIBO license or willingness to obtain in short order

  • Typically 2 years of commercial insurance experience

  • Experience in market negotiations on commercial policies is an asset

  • Strong aptitude to learn new risks along with a desire to keep up to date with emerging trends

  • Results-oriented and passionate with a strong sense of accountability and client management skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills

  • Solid team player who also possesses independence of thought

  • Proactive client-focused approach with effective negotiation and follow-up skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word Excel (formulas and pivot tables) PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Experience with Applied EPIC or similar insurance broker management systems

The compensation for this position is a variable compensation structure i.e. base salary plus commission. As such the total compensation earned will vary depending on the successful candidates book of business at a particular time. The expected base salary for this position is $45000 to $60000 plus commissions will be paid based on successful sales performance. The total compensation will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidates skills experience and working location as well as the specific positions business line scope and level.
