About The Opportunity

The role of the Property and Commercial Facilities Coordinator is to manage and lead Councils property commercial tenure and land dealings including leases sales acquisitions permits and the management of commercial facilities including holiday parks acting as the first point of contact for commercial tenure matters and guidance on Councils property portfolio.

Reporting to Councils Commercial Manager the role is hands on and will work closely with tenants and other stakeholders to achieve effective and integrated outcomes across a diverse portfolio. With well rounded technical abilities particularly in commercial leasing this role will ensure the effective and compliant management of Councils property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will

  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the property and commercial facilities section including people performance systems budgets and reporting.
  • Manage Councils property portfolio including coordinating acquisitions and disposals and managing leases licences permits and other contractual documents and arrangements.
  • Act as the central contact for internal and external stakeholders for property land and other commercial tenure matters.
  • Prepare and present reports to Council relating to property and commercial matters.
  • Manage Councils commercial tenure and holiday park arrangements including contracts and management agreements and associated fees and charges.
  • Manage the lodgement and registration of registerable documentation with Titles Queensland.
  • Develop and maintain policies procedures strategies plans and budgets relevant to the property and commercial facilities section.
  • Plan manage and/or coordinate special property and land tenure related projects working with internal and external stakeholders and adhering to time quality and budget considerations.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:

  • Substantial experience in property or legal fields particularly in property and lease management.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement understand complex business needs prioritise effectively and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication negotiation and customer experience skills with proven abilities to maintain positive relationships influence stakeholders and deliver positive outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in drafting reviewing and enforcing various types of leases (e.g. retail commercial residential) in a government environment with meticulous attention to detail for accurate documentation and correspondence.
  • Highly developed written communication skills with the ability to write for purpose and in the context of varied audiences.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Queensland Legislation relating to property and Local Government.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (law property or business) is highly desired
