About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Release Engineer with a passion for automation kubernetes and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD). If you are the successful candidate you will be a key contributor to the team focusing on optimizing our deployment pipelines and operational efficiency.
You will play a critical role in automating system deployment and maintenance reducing manual effort and improving the speed and quality of our software releases. You will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to foster a culture of shared ownership and streamlined processes.
Together with the team you will be responsible for identifying bottlenecks in the development lifecycle opportunities for automation to reduce toil and other release engineering-focused initiatives for applications and infrastructure within your ownership.

What you will be doing
- Collaborate with service teams to design implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid and reliable software releases.
- Automate operational tasks and reduce manual toil through development of tooling and platforms.
- Implement observability and resiliency measures in pipelines to measure post-deploy status and trigger automated remediation of deployment issues.
- Leverage AI and learn new skills to enhance engineering productivity and grow within the organization.
- Write and maintain internal documentation.
Required skills and experience
- 2 years of experience working in a software organization in a Dev Ops DevOps SRE or similar role.
- Very strong skills and experience with containerization (Docker) Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins GitHub Actions Spinnaker or similar).
- Strong Python scripting abilities for automation and tooling.
- History of leveraging AI to enhance productivity and outcomes.
- Familiarity working with Linux CLI tools and Linux-based tech stacks.
- Experience maintaining infrastructure in a private public (GCP AWS etc.) or on-prem cloud environment.
- Experience with configuration management and IaC tools like SaltStack Ansible Terraform or similar.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus including exporters and custom metrics.
- Established history of working proactively and independently to gather and define requirements document release plans and build pipelines for complex multi-team projects.
- Clear written and verbal communication with a focus on documentation and collaboration.
Education
- BSCS or equivalent required MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred.
