Education Qualification: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
Primary Skill : Network Firewall SD WAN Management Palo Alto Fortigate
Good to have : Network Routing & Switching
Position Description
Years of experience - 12 above
Certification : CCIE or equivalent expert level certifications
SME : Network Engineer is accountable for overall Data networks security. Network Designing experiences will be an add on.
Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions
Experience implementing multi-factor authentication single sign-on identity management or related technologies
Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures
Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the Palo Alto Firewalls
Create modify and optimize firewall policies and rules to enhance network security
Ensure tools are configured to maintain the firewall infrastructure
Maintain the clients security and networking devices and upgrade when necessary
Providing support for other engineers on PA equipment/software
Supporting during the technical escalations / elevated support for maintaining service level agreements.
Provide incident response & resolution as part of the 24x7 Network Operations Center
To ensure that all is work carried out in accordance with ITIL Incident Management guidelines
Knowledge of protocols BGP OSPF EIGRP SPT TRUNKS VLANs Port-Channel
Networking topologies and protocols. Examples being MPLS VRF SIP Traffic
Good knowledge of TCP/IP packet analysis using Wireshark or raw packet captures using tcpdump
Certification in Palo Alto Networks such as PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer) preferred
Proficiency in configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls and related technologies.
Experience with network protocols VPN configurations and security policies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience around Networking (i.e. WAN SD-WAN MPLS etc.) Next Gen Firewalls (NGFWs) Proxy Cloud Security etc.
Participate and drive technical discussions and explain Cloud Network & Security solutions and product options to meet customer needs.
Provide technical leadership within a highly technical team
Responsible to translate client requirements in to detailed actions for execution
Required to follow detailed change management and incident management processes
Must also prepare standard instructions and Checklists for preparing & installation of devices
Providing a positive image of the company through your role being a point of contact with onshore team/customer.
Must proactively help junior team members in resolving issues while being open to share their knowledge.
