Reports to: Senior Vice President Preconstruction Solutions
Primary responsibilities include:
Leadership
Drive Core Principles internally and externally
Coordinate manage and lead the work of Preconstruction Management team including developing training and implementing a standardized set of tools and process to manage track and report pursuit and project progress
Mentor and develop all team members in technical commercial and management aspects of projects
Foster a culture of ownership and sense of urgency in solving problems and resolving open issues
Assist in attracting recruiting developing and retaining top caliber talent
Attend and participate in business meetings industry events and conferences to promote Signal Energys culture and capabilities with a focus on Preferred Selection
Drive creativity and innovation in all aspects of Preconstruction activities
Proposal Phase
Assign proposal leads and monitor progress to ensure proposals are submitted on time and in a comprehensive and professional manner
Develop bid strategies with Business Development and guide technical and commercial solutions
Ensure cost estimates are comprehensive and competitive; review and challenge assumptions
Evaluate risks and opportunities; recommend contingencies
Evaluate schedule assumptions and ensure risks are adequately covered while meeting client needs
Drive collaboration with Operations to gain alignment on execution plans schedules and general conditions
Post-Award Phase
Ensure contract engineering permitting and procurement deliverables are completed on time and in alignment with expectations through proper planning tracking and issue resolution
Oversee negotiation of up and downstream contract technical and commercial exhibits
Develop and implement change management practices to ensure Signal Energy receives appropriate cost and schedule adjustments from proposal acceptance through EPC execution
Identify and mitigate any scope gaps between EPC contract and budget
Ensure seamless project handovers to Operations
Skills
Proven leader with a focus on communication process development team mentoring and collaboration
Commitment to exceptional client service
Fluency with contracts including legal commercial and technical terms
Detailed knowledge of PV solar and battery storage technology and project EPC process
Sensitivity to problems; ability to tell when something is wrong; able to revise and adapt as necessary
Ability to perform critical assessments of plans/projects based on large amounts of information
Proven data analysis and interpretation skills
Excellent mathematical skills including application and use in problem solving
Clear ability to understand evaluate and mitigate risk on behalf of Signal Energy and its clients
Effective interpersonal skills
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and ownership
Computer literacy and proficiency using MS Office (strong Excel skills a must); MS Project proficiency preferred
Education / Experience:
Bachelors degree - business finance pre-law construction management estimating civil and mechanical or electrical engineering or related field. Engineering Construction Management or Architectural degree or equivalent experience
Demonstrated success in leading multi-disciplinary managers and teams
Demonstrated ability to negotiate utility-scale renewable energy contracts in excess of $100MM
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling estimating cost control procurement and business development)
Field construction experience preferred
