Third (Nights)Overview:
The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives focuses on and simplifies workflow and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
Department Overview: Sentara offers both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to patients 18 and older who are in crisis due to mental illness emotional distress or destructive behavior patterns. Because our treatment facilities are located within local hospitals patients have access to the full range of both psychiatric and medical care. This is especially helpful for patients experiencing symptoms that are confusing and impact their physical health. Education
BSN (Required)
Master degree (Preferred)
Certification/Licensure
Virginia or Compact Multi-state license in good standing
BLS certification (required within 90 days of hire)
De-escalation and physical intervention training (required within 15 days of hire)
Professional Specialty Nursing Certification (preferred)
Experience
18 monthsnursing experience (Required)
Prior therapeutic behavioral health acute care experience
