The Network Technician will provide hands-on support and maintenance for enterprise network infrastructure including LAN WAN and wireless environments supporting both headquarters and remote locations. This role involves proactive network monitoring troubleshooting configuration and coordination with internal teams and vendors to ensure high availability and performance.
The position requires regular travel to remote sites (including Auburndale FL) and participation in after-hours support as part of an on-call rotation.
Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure and manage network switch startup and running configurations
Support end-to-end network connectivity from DMARC to endpoint devices including fiber distribution routers switches and DHCP environments
Monitor and maintain LAN WLAN and WAN infrastructure ensuring optimal performance and uptime
Troubleshoot network issues using remote monitoring tools and diagnostic techniques
Perform network tuning protocol compatibility checks and performance optimization
Support capacity planning risk assessment and contingency planning for network environments
Apply knowledge of the OSI model to troubleshoot and analyze data flow across systems
Collaborate with Information Security teams to define and implement firewall rules and secure network configurations
Utilize network management tools to identify faults and ensure seamless data communication across systems
Track incidents service requests and equipment movement using ITSM/service desk tools
Travel to FDOT offices and remote locations for onsite troubleshooting and deployments
Participate in after-hours/on-call support rotation (evenings and weekends)
Adhere to departmental procedures policies and operational standards
Perform additional duties as assigned
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required
Hands-on experience or exposure to enterprise networking environments
Familiarity with LAN/WAN/WLAN technologies and network infrastructure components
Experience or exposure to Windows 11 environments Active Directory and MECM
Understanding of network fundamentals and OSI model concepts
Strong troubleshooting analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Willingness to travel frequently with a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Ability to perform effectively under pressure with strong organizational skills
Experience with HPE/Aruba networking equipment
Industry certifications such as:
CompTIA Network
CompTIA Security
Cisco CCNA
Associates or Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field
OR equivalent technical training/certification and relevant work experience

Exposure through internships labs or entry-level roles is acceptable
