Elementary Reset/Restore Teacher

Position Description

The Elementary Reset/Restore Teacher supports students in developing the social emotional and behavioral skills necessary for success in the classroom and school environment. This position provides a structured setting where students can reflect regulate emotions and restore readiness to learn. The teacher collaborates with school staff to implement proactive and responsive supports that promote positive behavior and student well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a structured Reset/Restore environment where students can de-escalate reflect on behavior and prepare to return successfully to the classroom.

  • Support the development of students social-emotional learning (SEL) skills including self-regulation problem-solving and conflict resolution.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers administrators counselors and support staff to identify student needs and develop appropriate behavioral and social-emotional supports.

  • Assist in the development implementation and monitoring of behavior support plans and intervention strategies for individual students.

  • Facilitate restorative conversations and reflection activities that help students understand the impact of their behavior and repair relationships.

  • Maintain communication with staff regarding student progress needs and successful strategies for classroom reintegration.

  • Collect and maintain documentation and data related to student behavior interventions and outcomes.

  • Support a positive school climate by promoting respectful interactions accountability and restorative practices.

  • Provide guidance and coaching to students on coping strategies emotional regulation and responsible decision-making.

  • Participate in team meetings professional development and collaborative problem-solving with staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Education Elementary Education Special Education School Counseling or a related field.

  • Valid state teaching certification or eligibility for certification preferred.

  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in a school or youth-focused setting.

  • Knowledge of social-emotional learning practices behavior interventions and restorative practices.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers administrators and support staff to support student success.

  • Strong communication relationship-building and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to support students in developing self-regulation and positive behavioral skills.

  • Commitment to fostering a safe supportive and inclusive school environment.
