Proficient in writing RESTFUL APIs

Job Description

We are looking for a Java Software Developer to design develop and support innovative software solutions. This position will be a 6-12 month contract full-time and remote. This position may require after-hours or on-call support including weekends and evenings.

What Youll Do

• Ensure application of systems thinking principles allowing team members to independently design code test and deploy software
• Provide the necessary documentation to support the Software Development Life Cycle
• Develop prototypes and solutions leveraging a diverse range of technology
• Apply modern principles methodologies tools and systemic processes to support the launch of new business capabilities
• Encode test and debug associated software/programs
• Review analyze and modify core and customized software
• Respond to customer inquiries/requests for technical/operational support
• Resolve technical matters to meet customer service level agreements
• Perform root cause analysis/fixes or corrective action of defects
• Follow documented Software Development Life-Cycle standards
• Participate in special projects and training as required
• Escalate issues to senior levels as required

What Youll Need Required:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field
• 3 years of experience within a professional software development environment
• Strong understanding in the following areas:
  • Java technologies using Java 1.4 and greater JSP XML
  • Web Technologies such as HTML JavaScript
  • Web services technologies such as REST HTTPS JSON
• Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures work instructions process maps and/or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of internal and external customers
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Basic understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards
• Customer service-driven

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal state and local standards.
• Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer utilizing a mouse keyboard and monitor.
• Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person.
• Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings etc.
