Your Team:


The role will be focused on Derivatives Clearing within Markets Technology. The role will focus on delivering software solutions that support a reliable and efficient derivatives clearing market infrastructure focusing specifically on (but not limited to) ASXs Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) Clearing Platform. You will work with a team of software integration and quality engineers providing technical direction for strategic initiatives supporting the Derivatives Clearing Business.

  • Support the successful realisation of prioritised backlogs to meet business objectives and outcomes. Bringing deep experience in either engineering or technical business analysis you will work with cross-functional teams to guide technology delivery execution from design to build to run with a focus on:

  • Integration: APIs / Kafka delivery and co-ordination of consumer services (eg. Finance Risk) required to implement new core product platform at the ASX.

  • Data migration: Working with internal teams and product vendor on data migration strategy and execution.

  • Cloud services: Working across technology and risk teams to operationalise material workloads on AWS.

  • Maintain intimate knowledge of the enterprise domain and solution architecture.

  • Optimising the value of the development teams work

  • Transform high level vision/strategic outcomes of the product into detailed implementation strategy.

  • Scrum master responsibilities related to agile ceremonies sprint planning stand-ups and retrospectives.

  • Work closely with a range of stakeholders for the product including non-customer stakeholders such as finance security operations support audit and others outlining implementation plans to execute technical backlog.

  • Undertake impact analysis on system implementation and design options making recommendations assessing and managing

  • associated risks.

  • Document technical specifications and integration patterns across both the downstream and upstream environments.

  • Be part of a cross-functional team planning configuring and documenting new and existing system features in order to deliver working end-to-end solutions and thus value to stakeholders.

  • Uphold solution integrity by ensuring that work is compatible with agreed system architectures adheres to corporate standards upholds quality and ensures security.

  • Manages and facilitates the communication and collaboration between stakeholders and the set-up of innovation channels

  • Contribute to the overall Product Vision and Roadmap and communicate the vision and roadmap to ensure teams are aligned and ready to execute against them.

  • Ensure that requirements eg. stories are well-formed and aligns with product strategy and is able to be executed by engineering/QA team members. Drives knowledge sharing and management practices.


Must have experience:

  • Financial services experience

  • Proven agile project delivery experience and an ability to manage multiple deliverables with tight timeframes

  • Proven track record in delivering solutions with a customer-first mindset

  • Proven track record of systems engineering (infrastructure network security) or technical business analysis taking responsibility across all stages and iterations of the lifecycle including a strong understanding of best practices and design patterns.

  • Cross skilling and collaboration with other team members on product initiatives

  • Ability to clearly and professionally interact with clients stakeholders and managers

  • Familiarity in integration technologies including API and event driven architectures.

  • Familiarity with Agile software engineering methodologies and software product implementation.

  • Experience with relational database (SQL Server) and capital markets data products / models.

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Commerce Business Engineering Information Technology or a related field
