Duties and responsibilities:
1. Duties a) Completes duties according to the requirements of each procedure requiring radiological support b) Assembles necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduling procedures according to physicians preference card c) Tests and monitors equipment for proper working condition d) Accurately comprehends and interprets verbal orders and direction e) Documents records and other forms accurately adhering to approved policies/procedures f) Confirms that all persons in the room are appropriately shielded before activating x-ray g) Communicates information about the patients status to other persons responsible for patient care h) Applies the prescribed procedures to competently perform radiology technician functions i) Follows principles of aseptic technique in performing duties during the procedure j) Remains available during the procedure to provide timely responses to physician or patient needs k) Follows manufacturers specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing x-ray procedure l) Performs required maintenance of instruments supplies and equipment by adhering to cleaning care storage and calibration procedures as directed m) Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety n) Maintains adequate supplies to provide immediate availability during the procedure o) Maintains a clean and organized work area p) Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and the physician q) Assists with turning over operating rooms between cases r) Assists with cleaning rooms between cases (e.g. dusts shelves and countertops removes linens and places in bag for daily pickup removes garbage from operating room and recovery room) s) Knows location of equipment and supplies

Qualifications:
1. Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees management patients visitors and physicians
2. Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians patients insurance companies and general public
3. Ability to make decisions and solve problems
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced enviorment and multi-task

Educational and Job Quality Requirements:
Required
1. High school diploma or GED certificate
2. Radiology technician certification
3. Strong ethical and moral character references
Preferred
1. Two or more years experience working as a radiology technician
2. ASC experience

Physical/mental requirements:
1. Ability to sit stand and walk for long periods
2. Visual and auditory acuity

Compensation: $30.00 per hour

OUR FACILITY

The Surgery Center of Fairbanks opened on November 20 2010. Since then the facility has treated thousands of Interior Alaska residents with a wide range of health conditions. We specialize in outpatient surgery where surgical procedures are performed and patients are allowed to go home the same day. We are the only free-standing fully dedicated outpatient surgical facility in the Fairbanks area. We specialize in patient care using modern technology and digital electronic interfaces. We create an environment where the patient is our number one priority. We are owned and operated by Alaskans and we are your neighbors and friends. We understand the issues that face all Alaskans when they need surgery and we are proud to play a role if they require our services.

The Surgery Center of Fairbanks works with all health government programs such as Medicare Medicaid Denali Kidcare TriCare and the Veterans Administration. We accept all private insurance carriers and we guarantee to work with any patient to minimize the financial strain that some surgical procedures may require.

Most surgical specialties are performed at our facility: urology orthopedics ophthalmology neurosurgery general surgery ear nose and throat podiatry gynecology chronic pain procedures and gastroenterology. We have a fully dedicated pediatric procedure room for children to make their experience easier.
