About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivatedSafety Analysis Engineerto join our Fuel Design team and contribute to the development of advanced nuclear safety evaluations. This role focuses on performingthermal-hydraulic safety analysesto support the design licensing and operation ofpressurized water reactors (PWRs) or boiling water reactors (BWRs).
You will work alongside experienced nuclear engineers and analysts to develop and applyaccident simulation models evaluate plant behavior under transient conditions and support the safe deployment of nuclear fuel technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and documentnon-LOCA and LOCA accident analysesusing Framatomes version ofRELAP5or similar thermal-hydraulic codes
Support evaluations ofplant and core design changesand their impact on safety margins
Assist in the development and validation ofanalysis methodologiesfor new fuel products
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of safety analysis results
Contribute to theautomation and improvementof analysis tools and workflows
Participate in the preparation oftechnical reports presentations and regulatory documentation
Stay informed onnuclear safety regulationsand industry best practices
Profile
Required:
B.S. or M.S. in Nuclear Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Familiarity withthermal-hydraulic principlesand reactor system behavior
Experience using RELAP or similar code (e.g. TRACE RETRAN CATHARE etc.) to simulate reactor system behavior during postulated accidents.
Proficiency working in Linux
Proficiency inPythonMATLAB or similar tools for data analysis and automation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work effectively in a team environment
Preferred:
Experience withPWR or BWR systems
Exposure toaccident analysis methodologiesand safety evaluation processes
Familiarity withmodel development validation and uncertainty quantification
