As a Kitchen Porter you will play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of our kitchen operations. Working collaboratively with our chefs and kitchen staff you will ensure that our kitchen remains a hygienic well-organised and productive environment. - Wash dishes utensils pots pans and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers ensuring all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised to the highest standards Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces countertops food preparation areas and equipment regularly maintaining a hygienic working environment at all times
- Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with health and safety regulations Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks including peeling chopping slicing and portioning ingredients Receive store and organise kitchen supplies and ingredients efficiently maintaining accurate inventory records and alerting management to stock levels Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations ensuring all kitchen equipment is in good working order and reporting any faults promptly
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods demonstrating flexibility and the ability to work under pressure Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and contributing ideas to enhance kitchen operations and efficiency
Qualifications :
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods throughout your shift Capability to lift and carry heavy objects safely and correctly Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation Strong ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team Good people skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices or willingness to learn
- Understanding of food hygiene principles and health and safety compliance requirements Reliability and punctuality with a professional approach to your role Resilience and a positive attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure Catering or kitchen experience is desirable but not essential; we welcome applications from those new to the role who demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment Willingness to undertake induction training and develop your skill base within the hospitality sector
