The Role

We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to support the delivery of a network security improvement programme focused on segmentation device trust and vulnerability management.

This is a hands-on role working closely with architecture and security teams to implement and maintain secure network controls.



Requirements
  • Experience in network engineering or network security roles
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls (Palo Alto Cisco Fortinet)
  • Good understanding of network segmentation and security principles
  • Experience producing network diagrams and documentation
  • Understanding of network protocols routing and switching
  • Exposure to patching or vulnerability management processes

Responsibilities

  • Implement network segmentation and boundary controls across enterprise environments
  • Configure and maintain firewalls ingress/egress rules and network zoning
  • Produce and update network diagrams and technical documentation
  • Support implementation of device authentication controls (PKI Conditional Access)
  • Assist with rollout of BYOD controls (Intune MDM/MAM restricted access)
  • Support patching and vulnerability management prioritising high-risk issues
  • Conduct network and system mapping identifying dependencies and risks
  • Work with architects and security teams to ensure secure implementation of designs

Desirable

  • Experience with Conditional Access Intune or endpoint security controls
  • Exposure to Zero Trust concepts
  • Knowledge of NAC solutions
  • Experience with security tooling (IDS/IPS WAF VPN proxy)

This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website . If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria then your employment may be delayed or rejected . Details of this will be discussed with you at interview
