Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

The Metrolinx Community Engagement team is looking for a Community Engagement Advisor to support strategy planning process improvement and this role you will help by driving integration process improvement and reporting across the Metrolinxs Community Engagement teams supporting GO Expansion Subways and LRT projects. This role will lead KPI reporting and analysis support stakeholder engagement plans process refinement initiatives and help develop analysis-based engagement efforts across Metrolinxs transit projects. You will report to the Senior Manager Strategic Engagement.
What will I be doing
- Contribute to the development and implementation of community engagement strategies plans and programs.
- Support the implementation tracking and reporting of divisional key performance indicators (KPIs) to highlight trends suggest improvements and effectiveness of engagement initiatives and programs.
- Collect analyze and report on data to support engagement initiatives like surveys and newsletters.
- Support engagement planning efforts by helping refine and standardize internal processes.
- Support the development of program policies procedures and guidance materials for end users.
- Apply project management and data analysis skills to drive coordination; foster integration; and move project planning forward within a complex environment.
- Work with team members across Community Engagement to lead annual quarterly and monthly reporting; and support strategic and proactive events planning.
- Support Sr. Advisors and Managers in program design development and delivery as needed including research and analysis and creating briefing products such as briefing notes and power point presentations
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Must be enrolled in a full-time accredited co-op program in order to be considered for this position.
- Must be at least 15 years of age before starting employment
- Enrolled in Communications Public Policy or Administration Urban Planning Transportation Planning or similar program at a post-secondary institutionJP1
- Must be attending school full-time and returning to an academic institution.
- Organizational research planning time management and project management skills.
- Strong familiarity with data collection analysis and executive reporting using tools like Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint etc.
- Experience in communications or community engagement.
- Ability to communicate in French or other language is an asset.
- Interpersonal diplomacy oral/written communication skills and political acuity.
- Flexible Hours must be prepared to occasionally work outside of regular working hours during some phases of a project (beyond 5pm during the work week and weekends as required etc.).
