Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Field Technician for the Companys Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role will be responsible for field support in the ZAB Airspace. The Field Technician will support FAA contracts for FTI ADSB DCNS and any other Field Services programs as required.
Essential Functions:
- Provide technical support for each specific program/system (FTI MS ADS-B DCNS WMSS and others) L3Harris supports for the FAA.
- Install repair configure test and complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment at the customers remote locations.
- Able to work remotely in a scheduled and on-call capacity to various customer locations within your assigned area. Occasionally travelling to remote sites outside your assigned area may be needed from time to time to assist with the FAA customer needs and/or requests.
- Able to read/understand/follow equipment drawings and task orders.
- Possess good admin skills (taking notes and documenting what transpired while working at the customer location).
- Work directly with the NOCC the SAC and the Helpdesk over the phone on resolving issues in the field.
- Maintain tools test equipment parts/electronics truck stock inventory and personal or company vehicle.
- Be proactive and prepared for assigned tasks prior to dispatching.
- Able to work outside regularly scheduled hours (on-call) when/if needed to meet customers needs.
- Lift items up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10ft.
- Work with your supervisor (ASL) to ensure all L3Harris policies/procedures and program specific policies/procedures are followed.
- Willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 3 hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to traveloutside of their assigned region as needed.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA Public Trust Clearance.
- Possessand maintain a valid Drivers License and a satisfactory driving recordas conditions of initial (and continued) employment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Network CCNA CCNP CCNA Wireless A
- Excellentcustomer service skills.
- Ability to work in high stress and visibility environment
- Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement such as RJ-11 RJ-45 DB-25 V.35 RS-449
- Havean excellent working knowledge of fiber working knowledge of MultiplexesNetwork topology Frame Relay Fractional T-1 SONET Network TechnologyATM Private Line Voice and Data applications
- Goodworking knowledge of power testing AC and DC including 3 Phase AC. Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC powersupplies.
- Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications DS3Testing Digital Testing (BERT) and Analog VG Testing within Bell CoreStandards.
- Workingknowledge and usage of various network test equipment: JDSU HSTAmeritech AM5XT Sage 935 Digital Oscilloscope Halcyon 704A Para-scopeor other T1/DS3 Test sets.
- IP Based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
- Experience installing equipment racks (wallmount raised floors concrete etc.)
