The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation maintenance and repair of equipment and systems within the facility including boilers HVAC systems pumps and associated controls. This role ensures all equipment functions efficiently and safely to support building operations and occupancy comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain boilers air compressors water treatment systems and other central plant equipment.
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Monitor record and analyze equipment data; respond to alarms or unusual operating conditions.
- Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment including pumps motors valves and control systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities inspections repairs and parts inventory.
- Assist in energy management and conservation efforts by optimizing equipment performance.
- Respond to emergency calls for central plant equipment failures or system malfunctions.
- Collaborate with building engineers contractors and management on upgrades renovations and capital projects.
- Ensure all work complies with safety policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (required); knowledge of HVAC mechanical electrical or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in central plant or commercial building maintenance.
- Knowledge of boilerand HVAC system operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with digital controls building automation systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals drawings and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and communication skills.
