As an IL6S Intern you will support the Continuous Improvement (CI) and Integrated Lean Six Sigma (IL6S) journey at the plant. You will assist the IL6S team in driving operational excellence by supporting data collection analysis and improvement activities across various manufacturing systems. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to learn world-class manufacturing methodologies while contributing to impactful improvement projects.

How you will contribute

• Assist in data collection and analysis to support performance tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Support the implementation of CI initiatives and IL6S pillar activities (Focused Improvement AM PM etc.)

• Participate in team discussions and workshops related to loss elimination and system improvement

• Help prepare and update visual management boards and Daily Management System (DMS) tools

• Support preparation of reports training documents and presentations

• Engage in Gemba walks and observe shop floor processes to identify improvement opportunities

Preferred Knowledge

• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles

• Exposure to data analysis or industrial/engineering tools is a plus
  

What we expect from you:

• The IL6S Intern will assist IL6S Lead/Engineers own the loss intelligence and loss elimination agenda in all dimensions of manufacturing Safety Quality Cost Delivery and Morale across his/her manufacturing department with a specific focus on improving equipment reliability and waste reduction

• The IL6S Intern and IL6S Engineer will partner with manufacturing colleagues and other functional departments to identify opportunities and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement
  

Recommended Projects During Internship

Interns may be involved in one or more of the following projects:

• Work Process Improvement: Map and analyse production line processes to identify bottlenecks and suggest efficiency improvements.

• Loss Mapping Project: Assist in identifying and categorizing production losses using IL6S loss tree structure using IL6S methodologies

• 5S & Visual Management Enhancement: Support improvement of workplace organization and visual standards.

• DMS Tool Reporting: Assist in digitizing paper-based DMS boards or reports using Excel or similar tools.

• Kaizen Event Support: Participate in or help facilitate mini-Kaizen events to solve specific production or quality issues.

• Standard Work Audit: Support development and verification of standard operating procedures for selected processes such as Maintenance Standard/OPL or FI 12 Steps.

What you need to know about this position:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Chemical Industrial or related field)

• Available to commit to a full-time internship (minimum 36 months)

• Able to work onsite in Shah Alam Plant

• Enthusiastic about manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement
