Job Summary
Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Location: Syracuse NY
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Schedule: Day Shift 3 12-hour shifts 36 hours per week
Compensation
Travelers: $60/hour
Local Candidates: $50/hour
Position Overview
A healthcare facility in Syracuse NY is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit.
The LPN will assist in providing patient care for children and adolescents (ages 517) while supporting physicians and the healthcare team in an acute care inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress
Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
Administer medications and injections as directed
Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical areas
Assist with patient scheduling documentation and chart preparation
Communicate effectively with patients families and healthcare staff
Support a safe and therapeutic environment for pediatric psychiatric patients
Required Qualifications
Active New York State LPN License
Minimum 1 year of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience
Experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (ages 517)
CPR Certification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Inpatient psychiatric care experience
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Additional Requirements
Must be willing to work every other weekend
Some holiday coverage may be required
